Haven't posted in a while, mostly because I have been so busy. Finally ordered my new phone today gonna cost close to $400 I hope its worth it. Getting the moto Q 9c has more features than any phone Ive had before including GPS which is one of the big features I want besides a reasonable sized keyboard to type on. It will be nice to have Web access anywhere I go as well.

Watched a movie called "Funny games" last night type of movie that makes you crave justice and doesn't deliver it leaving you depressed afterwards. totally not worth seeing unless your masochistic.

Gonna buy a 42" inch plasma or LCD soon probably wait for memorial day weekend for sales I guess. really want a high def TV before I get a next gen console.

What scares me.

What really terrifies me is that this article below is not soemthing thats unique or rare, it may be that its a little more extreme than most examples of the retardation of Americas political structure but its not THAT extreme compared to other examples. While I read this and I laughed out loud at it, it still in the back of my mind left me a little scared for the future. What frightens me isn't that people do this sort of thing, rather its the fact that an elected official has the gall to use government money and resources to promote insanity and isn't even questioned on it. Did he even stop to think about the constitution?

At Tuesday’s Birmingham City Council meeting, Mayor Larry Langford proclaimed Friday, April 25, a “day of prayer in sackcloth and ashes” in Birmingham.

Birmingham Weekly reported two weeks ago that the mayor purchased 2,000 burlap sacks for ministers and other community leaders to wear at a Plan 10/30 summit.
To many Christians, sackcloth and ashes symbolize humility and repentance, but the mayor’s decree came dressed with the usual accoutrements - printed on fine, invitation-stock paper and wrapped in a bright silver folder, adorned by the magic hat logo Langford commissioned for the city last year.

In the decree, Langford said that Birmingham’s crime problem “pails” (sic) in comparison to the biblical City of Nineveh.

The proclamation tells the Bible story of Jonah and the city of Nineveh: “Whereas Chapter 3, verse 5 & 6, of the Book of Jonah, Old Testament states, that the people of Nineveh believe God and proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest of them even to the least of them,” the resolution reads.

In the proclamation, the mayor puts himself parallel with the King of Nineveh (Jonah 3:7) who, wearing sackcloth and ashes, joined his citizens in prayer.

Langford said last week that “the Constitution of the United States calls for a separation of church and state - it never said anything about a separation of church from state.” He did not mention the Constitution at today’s city council meeting, although he blasted any potential critics who question his piety in public office.

“I could care less what they write about it or say about it,” Langford said. “Because let there be no misunderstanding, just like Satan is at work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days, God is too.”

The mayor’s proclamation urged all “Bishops, Priests, Pastors, Ministers,” and other religious citizens to join him in prayer at the Plan 10/30 summit, which will take place at Boutwell Auditorium this Friday, April 25, at 6 p.m.

The event will be the third Plan 10/30 summit. Previous events have focused on families and crime. In one event, Langford handed out Bibles donated by the 700 Club.

Far from the negative press he received last month for Jefferson County’s financial woes, Langford has been featured and praised by Pat Robertson’s religious news broadcasts.

Meanwhile, Birmingham’s homicide rate continues to outpace figures from this time last year.

Penis theft is on the rise.

Wow who would have thought. Its amazing what people will believe.

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft.

Reports of so-called penis snatching are not uncommon in West Africa, where belief in traditional religions and witchcraft remains widespread, and where ritual killings to obtain blood or body parts still occur.

Rumours of penis theft began circulating last week in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo's sprawling capital of some 8 million inhabitants. They quickly dominated radio call-in shows, with listeners advised to beware of fellow passengers in communal taxis wearing gold rings.

Purported victims, 14 of whom were also detained by police, claimed that sorcerers simply touched them to make their genitals shrink or disappear, in what some residents said was an attempt to extort cash with the promise of a cure.

"You just have to be accused of that, and people come after you. We've had a number of attempted lynchings. ... You see them covered in marks after being beaten," Kinshasa's police chief, Jean-Dieudonne Oleko, told Reuters on Tuesday.

Police arrested the accused sorcerers and their victims in an effort to avoid the sort of bloodshed seen in Ghana a decade ago, when 12 suspected penis snatchers were beaten to death by angry mobs. The 27 men have since been released.

"I'm tempted to say it's one huge joke," Oleko said.

"But when you try to tell the victims that their penises are still there, they tell you that it's become tiny or that they've become impotent. To that I tell them, 'How do you know if you haven't gone home and tried it'," he said.

Some Kinshasa residents accuse a separatist sect from nearby Bas-Congo province of being behind the witchcraft in revenge for a recent government crackdown on its members.

"It's real. Just yesterday here, there was a man who was a victim. We saw. What was left was tiny," said 29-year-old Alain Kalala, who sells phone credits near a Kinshasa police station.

And people ask "whats the harm in believing in a little magic?"

A trip to the park.

Most parents that I see take their kids to the park for an hour perhaps two, not me, when me and the kids goto the park we spend 4-5 hours there. I know its probably excessive but they just never want to leave, and I have a hard time saying no to either of them.

Colbey is four, yet he never spends time with other kids his age. everytime we goto the park he latches onto 6-10 year olds and runs around with them hes so much smaller than they are its adorable. He doesn't have any trouble keeping up with them usually although today he was playing with a couple of 9 and 10 year olds one was a girl and they were a bit fast for him while they were playing tag. It got him upset because he couldn't catch them.

Kaiden on the other hand is a lot like me, he plays with noone but himself. He walks around and climbs the ladders and goes down the slides. all by himself. he always has such a good time and he always manages to get himself covered in dirt just like I used to.

Quantum physics.

I'm not a scientist and i don;t claim to understand quantum physics but the double slit experiment just floors me.

it goes like this.

Shoot matter through a slit and you get 1 band on the wall behind it shoot it through 2 slits and you get 2 bands. send a wave through 1 slit and you get 1 band shoot it through 2 and you get an interference pattern and multiple bands.
Shoot electrons (which count as bits of matter) through 1 slit and you get 1 band through 2 slits you get an interference pattern (this should not be). So they decided to send 1 electron at a time through 2 slits. they still got the interference pattern. proving that electrons travel as a wave. Ok now here is where it gets way too strange.

The scientists wanted to know which slit the electron was traveling through so they put a sensor by the slits. Now this sensor was passive and did not interfere with the electrons in anyway shape or form. and yet when the sensor is on the interference pattern disappeared and the electron ceased to act like a wave. Simple observation changed the outcome of the experiment.

Now I have read some peoples posts claiming that this proves there is a god, Perhaps i'm stupid but I don't see how that proves anything other than how mysterious the universe really is.

On a related note some scientists in Italy believe they may have detected dark matter particles for the first time. other sites I have read believe it to be possible but far too premature to be making such a claim. in other words the jury is still out.

Mormons...

I have never really given much thought to Mormons besides the cults you hear about on the news that want to have 20 wives each and marry their own children. you really do not hear much about them. I had no idea for instance the "the church of Jesus Christ and latterday saints" was Mormon. I have actually had a couple of experiences with this church. I'll get to those later though.

We just finished watching a movie we rented from Netflix called September Dawn. This movie is about the massacre at mountain meadows. If you haven't heard of it well thats no surprise not many people have its almost as if noone wants it in the history books. One hundred and thirty men women and children traveling through Utah on their way to California we slaughtered on the orders of the mormon church. These fucking "god loving" pricks decided they needed to "save" these people (oh and liberate them from their property). While I am sure the movie isn't 100% accurate it is all too clear how sick a religion this is (about as sick as any other).

Am I wrong in my hatred of religion? No.

Colbey

Colbey is my first born son. He was born with a head of black hair which is one factor of why his name is Colbey. He was born a month premature under somewhat troubling circumstances. For many people I imagine this would have been very traumatic, for me it wasn't I can't say why exactly but I KNEW I did not THINK or GUESS, I was completely certain he would be just fine. The doctors when inserting a tube into his lungs punctured one. And still I was not worried. Perhaps this was because I was psychic? Doubtful, I have come to realize it was because I was still not really fully grown up and in my heart so to speak I didn't believe anything truly horrible could happen., not to me anyway.

As Colbey grows he never ceases to amaze me. before he was two he was dressing himself he always wants to do everything himself. And yet hes so small. smaller than many other kids his age. At the same time hes more physically adept that any child his age I have seen. perhaps i'm just biased but i don't believe so. I'll continue this at another time. and Start more about Nick and Kaiden. They are all so different.
